Barn owls are quite a common feature to the countryside round here, usually swooping over the fields or just sitting, watching and waiting, so it was with delight that I spotted this one about to settle on an old post. I printed two slightly different background colours to try to capture the ever changing light.
Print size 155 x 205mm. Original multi-block linocut, variable edition of 24. This print was created from three blocks using oil-based ink, with gold for the tops of the seed heads. Hand printed on Somerset Satin 250 paper using a small relief press. Due to the nature of the printmaking process minor variations can occur between prints, making each one a truly unique piece of artwork.
Each print is numbered, titled and signed at the bottom, mounted in a neutral colour and wrapped in cellophane to keep it clean. The mounted work will fit into a standard 10 x 12″ frame. The artwork will be packaged in a sturdy cardboard envelope and shipped by tracked mail.
