I spent a lovely weekend in Mundesley with family and friends to celebrate a signifciant birthday four years ago. We were so lucky with the weather given it was November. The light was glorious and I couldn’t help but be inspired to create a print based on it. I thought the print was sold out, but one copy has unexpectedly become available.
This original reduction linocut is from a small variable edition of 15. The reduction method (my favourite technique) uses a single piece of lino to produce a multi-coloured print. The lino is gradually cut away as each layer is printed and the image emerges. Sometimes, only a very small printable area remains for the final, darkest tone. As the block is essentially destroyed during the process, a reduction print can never be reprinted.
Print size 270 x 180mm. Hand printed on Somerset Satin 250g paper using a small relief press. Due to the nature of the printmaking process minor variations can occur between prints, making each one a truly unique piece of artwork.
Each print is numbered, titled, signed at the bottom and mounted in a neutral colour to fit a standard 12 x 16″ frame. The artwork will be shipped flat protected by strong cardboard packaging and sent by tracked mail.
