This print was inspired by the Breckland landscapes, a unique habitat orignally created by prehistoric farmers and then transformed over the centuries. To me it is the countryside I enjoy every day with its pine lines and gently undulating sandy soil.
This original linocut is from a very small variable edition of 6. It is created from two lino plates. The background is printed in two blended layers using the reduction method to create slightly differently coloured skies. The pine trees are then printed from another piece of lino, with some small changes to one of the trees to reflect the pines in the Brecks, resulting in six unique prints.
Print size 265 x 180mm. Hand printed on Somerset Satin 250g paper using a small relief press. Each print is numbered, titled, signed at the bottom, and sealed in cellophane to keep it clean. The artwork will be packaged in a sturdy cardboard envelope and shipped by tracked mail.
