Description

This print was inspired by a successful fossil hunting trip to Bawdsey Beach, near Woodbridge in Suffolk. We were lucky with our finds and with the weather, but my eye kept being drawn to the pine trees teetering on the edge of the cliff.

This original reduction linocut is from a limited edition of 13. The reduction method (my favourite technique) uses a single piece of lino to produce a multi-coloured print. This one consists of seven layers made up from 12 colours. As the block is essentially destroyed during the process, a reduction print can never be reprinted.

Print size 203 x 305mm. Hand printed on Somerset Satin 250g paper using a small relief press. Due to the nature of the printmaking process minor variations can occur between prints, making each one a truly unique piece of artwork.

Each print is numbered, titled and signed at the bottom. The artwork is unmounted, allowing the buyer to choose how it is mounted.  It is shipped flat protected by strong cardboard packaging and sent by tracked mail.
