I’ve cycled past this tree on many occasions, but never paid it much attention. One February afternoon my eye was drawn to a buzzard overhead. It then landed in the tree, but before I possibly had time to get out my camera if flew away across the road in front of me. The sun behind the tree created a delightful image which I was very eager to capture in a lino cut.
I printed three different versions of this print, with slightly varying skies. The sky is created from one piece of lino using the reduction technique, with the tree, buzzard and grass from three separate lino plates.
