Description
This print brings back fond memories of an idyllic day spent at the Seven Sisters National Park I sat with my grandson and dog Lola, sketching the glorious view of the Cuckmere Haven, when we noticed a large bird soaring above us. Then it was joined by another and as they changed direction and even flew below where we were sitting we recognised them by their distinctive tails as red kites.
This original reduction linocut is from a very small limited edition of 9. The reduction method (my favourite technique) uses a single piece of lino to produce a multi-coloured print. As the block is essentially destroyed during the process, a reduction print can never be reprinted.
This is my largest print to date. The actual image measures approximately A3, 405mm x 305mm. Hand printed on Somerset Satin 250g paper using a small relief press. Due to the nature of the printmaking process minor variations can occur between prints, making each one a truly unique piece of artwork.
Each print is numbered, titled and signed at the bottom. The artwork is unmounted, allowing the buyer to choose how it is mounted. Due to its size the print is shipped rolled on a strong cardboard tube, by tracked mail.
