Description
This is the third print I’ve created inspired by a very special local wood, called Grenadiers Plantation, which I walk through with my dog Lola most days. The light filtering through the trees is just magical, it calls out to be photographed. My grandchildren love it as a place to play hide and seek and build dens.
This original reduction linocut is from a limited edition of 20. The reduction method (my favourite technique) uses a single piece of lino to produce a multi-coloured print. The lino is gradually cut away as each layer is printed and the image emerges. Sometimes, only a very small printable area remains for the final, darkest tone. As the block is essentially destroyed during the process, a reduction print can never be reprinted.
Print size 180 x 265mm. Hand printed on Somerset Satin 250g paper using a small relief press. Due to the nature of the printmaking process minor variations can occur between prints, making each one a truly unique piece of artwork. Each print is numbered, titled and signed at the bottom and mounted in a neutral colour to fit a standard 12 x 16″ frame. The artwork will be shipped flat protected by strong cardboard packaging and sent by tracked mail.
