This print was inspired by a trip to the West Coast of Ireland. The day before we had journeyed around the Ring of Kerry and the weather had been so dismal and foggy we could hardly see more than  a few hundred yards. However, the next day was bright and sunny and the waves crashing onto the shore sparkled in the sunlight.

This original reduction linocut is from a limited edition of only 12. The reduction method (my favourite technique) uses a single piece of lino to produce a multi-coloured print. The lino is gradually cut away as each layer is printed and the image emerges. Sometimes, only a very small printable area remains for the final, darkest tone. As the block is essentially destroyed during the process, a reduction print can never be reprinted

Print size 180 x 265mm. Hand printed on Somerset Satin 250g paper using a small relief press. Due to the nature of the printmaking process minor variations can occur between prints, making each one a truly unique piece of artwork. Each print is numbered, titled and signed at the bottom and mounted in a neutral colour to fit a standard 12 x 16″ frame.  The artwork will be shipped flat protected by strong cardboard packaging and sent by tracked mail.
