One sunny afternoon in Southwold, the sun was low in the sky and my eye was drawn to the shadows cast by this lone post on the beach. Why was it there, not just as a perch for resting seagulls I’m sure.
There are two slight different variations of this print available. The foreground in editions 1 to 9 suggests a slightly lower tide, while editions 10 to 14 give the impression of a slightly higher tide.
Original reduction linocut, variable edition of 14. Print size 270 x 180mm. Hand printed on Somerset Satin 250g paper using a small relief press. Due to the nature of the printmaking process minor variations can occur between prints, making each one a truly unique piece of artwork.
Each print is numbered, titled and signed at the bottom, mounted in a neutral colour and wrapped in cellophane to keep it clean. The mounted work will fit into a standard 12 x 16″ frame. The artwork will be packaged in a sturdy cardboard envelope and shipped by tracked mail.
