Description
This is postcard-sized print featuring the familiar beach at Sea Palling is from a series titled ‘Postcards from Norfolk’. The others in the series are Cromer Beach Huts, Sunset on the Fen and Happisburgh lighthouse.
The reduction method (my favourite technique) uses a single piece of lino to produce a multi-coloured print. As the block is essentially destroyed during the process, a reduction print can never be reprinted. For example, with this print all that remains of the lino is the lamppost. Hand printed on Somerset Satin 250g paper using a small relief press. Due to the nature of the printmaking process minor variations can occur between prints, making each one a truly unique piece of artwork.
This original reduction linocut is from a small edition of 10, sized approximately 6 x 4″ ( 15 x 10cm). Each print is numbered, titled and signed at the bottom. The print is unmounted and will will shipped flat (unframed) by 2nd class Royal mail.
