Description

This is the first print from a series titled ‘Postcards from Norfolk’, which came about after I created a postcard sized print to donate to Designermakers 21 fundraising efforts.  I enjoyed the challenge of making such a small reduction print, so I decided to keep going. The others in the series are Cromer Beach Huts, Sunset on the Fen and Happisburgh lighthouse.

The reduction method (my favourite technique) uses a single piece of lino to produce a multi-coloured print.  As the block is essentially destroyed during the process, a reduction print can never be reprinted. For example, with this print all that remains of the lino is the lamppost. Hand printed on Somerset Satin 250g paper using a small relief press.  Due to the nature of the printmaking process minor variations can occur between prints, making each one a truly unique piece of artwork.

This original reduction linocut is from a small edition of 10, sized approximately 6 x 4″ ( 15 x 10cm). Each print is numbered, titled and signed at the bottom. The price includes free UK and international shipping. The print will will shipped flat by 2nd class Royal mail or International Standard mail.
