Description

The pine lines form the background to the landscape of Brecks. They comprise of long straight lines of scots pines silhouetted against big Norfolk skies, sometimes growing tall and straight, but more often in contorted, twisted shapes.  Historically they were planted as hedges, to provide windbreaks between fields and prevent the light sandy soil from blowing away. Almost all of them have now been allowed to grow into lines of mature trees. For me the sight of them marching across the landscape as I drive along the A11, means that I am nearly home – which was nearly the title for this print. This is the third linocut I’ve created featuring these iconic trees.

Print size 180 x 275mm, from a small limited edition of 10, created from two pieces of lino using the reduction method. Due to the nature of the printmaking process minor variations can occur between prints, making each one a truly unique piece of artwork. Each print is numbered, titled and signed at the bottom. The artwork will be shipped flat (unframed) in a sturdy  cardboard envelope and sent by tracked mail.
